Summary

In life, Queen painted vivid portraits that captured the truth of her subjects—but when she is killed by police, her sister,Princess, hopes to keep Queen’s memory alive and their mother afloat. This searing and haunted play asks us

to consider the gap between justice and responsibility. Intimate and emotional, BMLD shows how a national reckoning echoes in the lives of three women.

The full cast features Fedna Jacquet, Tom O’Neil (Boardwalk Empire), Ebony Marshall-Oliver (Ain’t No Mo, Chicken & Biscuits), and Margaret Odette (The Convent, Sehnsucht).

Creative Direction & Content Development

Malik crafted the media plan for our BTS social media rollout including production photography, videography, and interviews of the cast and playwright. The goal was to highlight the process of workshopping a production in real-time with your audience.
