An “I Am Soul” Residency Limited Presentation

National Black Theatre (NBT) presents the public presentation of Packages O’ The Things We Deliver, written by 2020-2024 NBT Playwright-in-Residence, Oya Mae Dxtchess-Davis, and directed by Daniel Boisrond.

Summary

After a murder, 3 brothers trapped in an urban Minneapolis are haunted by their past, and channel their energy and rhythmic flow to save their family from the threat of police violence. Yet, quickly they realize the only way to disentangle the intergenerational connections between their family members is by delivering packages.

This perilous journey to the ancestral world, OKO, asks them to forgive and empathize in the midst of trauma to liberate the souls of their family.

Malik crafted the media strategy for our BTS multi-channel rollout including production photography, videography, illustrations, and interviews of the cast and playwright. The goal was to highlight the process of workshopping a production in real-time.
